Getting started
How do I install PiP Cue?+
Visit the Chrome Web Store listing and click Add to Chrome. The toolbar icon appears once installation finishes. The first install opens an onboarding tab automatically.
How do I use Standard PiP?+
Open any video page, click the PiP Cue toolbar icon, and hit Standard PiP. Or press Alt+Shift+P on your keyboard. The largest video on the page (including embedded iframes) pops out into Chrome's floating window.
How do I use Cinematic PiP?+
Alt+Shift+M on a YouTube watch page (or any HTML5 video). A floating window opens with full controls - scrub, seek ±10s, mute, volume, speed, captions, and a bookmark/save button. Esc closes it.
How do I use Captions Only?+
Alt+Shift+C. A small subtitle window appears on top showing only the captions, while the original video keeps playing in its tab. Restyle it from the options page.

What is A-B loop and how do I use it?+
YouTube only (for now). Open Cinematic PiP, click the loop icon, then press [ to set point A and ] to set point B. The video repeats between them. Pick a playback speed from the same panel - perfect for transcribing or learning a phrase.
How do I save a video bookmark?+
On YouTube, click the red Save pill that PiP Cueadds next to the action bar. In Cinematic PiP, click the bookmark icon. Either saves the video URL, title, thumbnail, and the exact timestamp where you stopped. First 20 saves are free and local.
How do I access saved videos?+
Click the PiP Cue toolbar icon → View all in the Saved videos section. Or visit /bookmarks on this site (after signing in with Google).
How do I customize subtitle styles?+
Right-click the toolbar icon → Options. The "Subtitle style" card has font size, weight, color, edge style, and a timing offset. Changes apply immediately to Cinematic PiP and Captions Only.
Troubleshooting
Extension doesn't detect the video+
Refresh the page. If you just installed or reloaded PiP Cue, open tabs need a refresh to get the content script. Try Standard PiP first - it works on more sites than Cinematic PiP because it scans iframes too. Some DRM-protected videos (Netflix, etc.) block PiP at the player level.
Subtitles not showing in PiP+
Enable captions in the video player first (the CC button), then open Cinematic PiP. Captions are read from what the player already shows on the page; if the player isn't displaying them, we can't see them.
Keyboard shortcuts don't work+
Visit
chrome://extensions/shortcuts and confirm they're set. Some sites override Alt-key combinations; in that case, customize the shortcut to something else (e.g., Ctrl+Shift+P).Sign-in isn't completing+
The Google sign-in opens in a popup. Make sure your browser isn't blocking popups for
pip-cue.vercel.app. If the popup closes without signing you in, try once more - Google's OAuth screens occasionally fail on first visit. Still stuck? Email tenxnaveen@gmail.com.
